Beads on the Trail 2017

Beads on the Trail for Beads of Courage 2017

Artmosphere Studio is working with Beads of Courage to send beads on the Iditarod Trail for the 6th time in 2017. The goal of this annual event to connect Alaska's Last Great Race with the kids in the Beads of Courage program, who are in a race for their lives.  Iditarod mushers share the strength and courage they need for Iditarod in honor of the children who will receive the beads they carry on the 1000 mile long Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.
We need you!  There are 76 mushers participating in Iditarod 2017.  If every musher carries a bead, plus the teacher on the trail, that makes 77 sets of beads!  You can help by making beads to send on the trail, being available on packing day to catalog, photograph and pack the beads for their journey, or passing out beads to the mushers.
Bead Artists:  Make sets of Alaska themed beads - 1 for the trail and 4 replicas for fundraising (BOGO - buy one, give one to a BOC child) and send them to Artmosphere Studio before February 24, 2017.  You can use the sign up genius form below to let us know you're making beads too.  See more details in our Call for Beads linked here!
Alaska volunteers & Alaska Bead Society members: Volunteer to help pack beads the weekend of Feb 26, pass out beads at the musher meeting on March 2 or at the Anchorage start on March 4.  Sign up with our ad-free SignUp Genius form here.
Mushers: Carry your bead sets on the Iditarod Trail with you and send them back to honor the strength and courage of a child in the Beads of Courage program.  Each kit contains 1 hand made bead and 10 Acts of Courage beads with notes of encouragement for you to fill out.
